Five Rotary Clubs of Rotary International District 3800 (RI D-3800) participated in CINEKADA, a community building activity of SM Cinema. The activity encourages SM Cinema clientele ages 18 to 25 to form themselves in groups of five or more and join a search in which the top three groups will be awarded prizes and the Champion (first place) group will represent SM as ambassadors of goodwill for one year projecting the core values of SM as a responsible corporate entity.

    The 3-month search for the company’s ambassadors (Cinekada 2010) ended last Saturday evening August 14, 2010 at the Center Stage – Mall of Asia where six finalists (from 20 semi finalists) vied for the championship. After the selection and before the announcement of the winners, Allan Florendo, SM’s AVP for Sales and Marketing and a former Group Study Exchange (GSE) Team Member of RI District 3800 announced the prizes to be won by the winners. He said that aside from the material gifts and the cash prize of P100,000 the champions will also receive a precious gift that will last a lifetime for them - a gift certificate for each of them to attend the youth leadership training at RI District 3800’s Rotary Youth Leadership Awards or RYLA 2010 in October this year. The sponsors of the champions to the RYLA 2010 are the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong, Rotary Club of Mandaluyong Uptown, Rotary Club of San Juan East, Rotary Club of Valenzuela West and the Rotary Club of Metro Valenzuela.

    The RYLA 2010 Certificates were awarded to the Champion group UBE (Ultimate Bonding Experience) by Asst. Gov. Peter Quintana (RC Valenzuela) representing RC Mandaluyong President Dionisio Chan; Pres. Tess Santos of RC Mandaluyong Uptown; Past Pres. Del Domingo (RC ManPaSan) representing RC San Juan East President Eve Butcon; Past President Rico Galloron representing RC Valenzuela West President Ricardo Yu and Sec. Belle Quilantang (RC ManPaSan) representing RC Metro Valenzuela President Emil Aco.
