District Strategic Planning

The District Strategic Planning (DSP) was held at Fairways Room of Wack Wack Golf and Country Club on March 2, 2011 at exactly 2 pm. DGE Raffy
in the absence of DG Jun Farcon, who came later coming from another Rotary function called the meeting to order, followed by the invocation of ISDG Jun Angeles and the introduction of the participants by yours truly. Among the participants were current District Global officers, incoming Majestic team, DGN Lirio Sandoval and DGND Louie Ticman. PDG Jaime Dee in his welcome address stresses the importance of planning and continuity on different avenues of service in Rotary. The Global officers briefly presented the present status of the district on membership, TRF contribution and programs, different service projects, club administration including qualification to RI Presidential Citation. DGE Raffy on his message also touched on the importance of membership growth where he wanted our District to double its membership during his term. He also emphasizes valued support to the programs of The Rotary Foundation by way of our contribution
and participation to its different programs. The Rotary’s Public Image program was also highlighted in DGE Raffy’s message. Our future District leaders, DGN Lirio and DGND Louie were likewise given time to discuss their future plans during the meeting. The formal meeting after its adjournment was quickly followed by fellowship with lots of food and drinks. DS Jun Zafra, RC Pasig
District Team Training Seminar
Hosted by DGE Raffy Garcia III on March 5, 2011 at Makati Sports Club, Makati City.
The training started at 8:30 am with DG Jun Farcon calling the meeting to order. It was followed by an Invocation led by PP Tet Requiso and the singing
of the National Anthem by PP Vincent Santos. The ninety participants were introduced individually by yours truly. DG Jun Farcon on his inspirational message to the participants highlighted the importance of planning and training for the incoming leaders and officers of our district in order to have a successful year in Rotary service. After a brief turnover of seminar proceedings, DGE Raffy presented the new RI Theme and RI Goals. This was highlighted by an AVP of RIPE Kalyan Banerjee speech during the International Assembly at San Diego. The District Administration and Communication Structure were also discussed by yours trulywith emphasis that the District is there to support the clubs. At the close of the opening session, the
participants were divided into two groups, one group represent the operations and directly working with the clubs while the other group represent the different District committees that will provide support to the different projects of the clubs. In the first session, the Roles and Responsibilities were discussed. The first group representing the operations side was ably handled by District Secretary Tom Rocamora while the support group was ably handled too by PP Jun Angeles. Sumptuous lunch was served during the lunch break. In session two, the working relationships with clubs were discussed with the two speakers DS Tom and PP Jun again handling their respective group. At session three, where everybody returned to the plenary hall, PP Lito Bermundo discussed the Resources available to participants to help the clubs while during session four, DGE Raffy presented our District Goals for the Year and District Concerns. An open forum followed after and handled by ISDG Willie Caballa. At the closing plenary session, DGE Raffy thanks everybody for their time and commitment to be part of the Majestic team. Completed evaluation forms submitted by the participants were given by DGE Raffy to DGN Lirio Sandoval. As always, the day is not complete without fellowship of more food and usual drinks after a day of fruitful learning where most of the participants brought home some of the food prepared for them.
